Hi Rotarians,

First, I would like to thank all the members who joined us last Wednesday at our Rotary Social. We had a small group, but it’s always good to see everyone’s faces and hang out for a little bit. Last Wednesday, Rotarian Art Blank joined us, and we ended up having an interesting conversation about the latest on COVID-19 in our community. Thanks Art for such an informative chat.

Our club granted four scholarships to MDIHS Seniors, or should I say, high school graduates:

Dezirae Zaman
Lawrence Nuesslein
Isabella Murphy

Thanks to scholarship committee members Judith Swazey, Scott Hammond and former Rotarian Melinda Rice for helping with the selection process and taking time to evaluate the scholarship applications. Congratulations to the MDI High School Class of 2020, especially to these four students and best wishes in their future endeavors.

On June 24^th, the last Wednesday of the month, incoming President Stefanie J. Muscat and I will host The Rotary Transition Soirée. We will be honoring the passing of the baton as well as giving some recognition and awards. Stefanie sent the invitation, and I hope you can join us via ZOOM. It will be a different vibe, but honoring our motto of Service Above Self is important.

On Wednesday, June 10^th, our speaker will be Alf Anderson from the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce. Hope you can join us.
