Every year, it feels like the Rotary president sends out a post about being thankful for everyone in the club and the board, thankful for all the good that we get to do. This year is no different.

It’s easy to be thankful to be a part of this club, a club that makes a difference in our community and the world. It’s easy to be thankful for the friendship and service to our community that each one of you engages in. You take the time to volunteer, to make friends, to create change. That matters.

As our holiday party approaches on December 5, I’m especially thankful to Susy, Lisa, Aurora, Amy and Mark for all the efforts they’re putting in. If you’d like to help, give them a shout. You’ve already received an email from Lisa about auction items. I’m pretty sure they also need a few volunteers to help set up, etc.

I’m also thankful to Susy and Steve for running the meetings while I was away, for Joe and Martha for sharing newsletter duties these past few weeks and for Mike for heading up the website – one of those under-the-radar jobs that matter so much.

Please don’t forget that we REALLY need to help the Maine Sea Coast Mission for its annual party this upcoming December 7. They’ve requested appetizers, which I can pick up from your home and drop off. Email me for details. We still have only four people signed up. I promise you. The food does not have to be fancy. You can buy dip and crackers, smack it in another container and call it good.. You can pay someone else to make pigs in a blanket. It’s all good. All that matters is that people are fed. You can email me to volunteer.

And speaking of being fed – thank you so much to all of you who donated happy dollars and fines to help us give to the Bar Harbor Congregational Church’s Thanksgiving meals. They send out around 200, I think. That’s a lot of people to help.

Please remember there is no meeting this Wednesday. I hope you all have a lovely holiday. Please know how much I appreciate each of you for the contributions you’ve given to this club and community, now and in the past.

Best wishes,
Carrie
