President's Message
Dear fellow Rotarians,

Following in Susy’s footsteps from her last newsletter, I will share my remarks from the annual meeting held on June 24th. I know you all join me in thanking Susy for her passion, dedication and service to our club this past year and wish her a much deserved rest in the weeks ahead!

As some of you know, I am a third generation Rotarian. Both my father and grandfather were Rotarians and both served in leadership roles at the club and district level, here in the U.S. and in Great Britain. Through their examples, I was ingrained with the notion of service above self at an early age. It is undoubtedly not a coincidence this led to a career in nonprofit leadership.

The year’s theme is Rotary Opens Opportunities, as set by our incoming Rotary International President Holger Knaack. He recently spoke about this theme and said the following:

“We believe that our acts of service, large and small, generate opportunities for people who need our help, and that Rotary opens opportunities for us to live a richer and more meaningful life.”

Two important men in my life opened up new worlds to me through Rotary, and I am excited for our club to play even a small role in creating opportunity, learning and growth for our community. While COVID may change the way in which we engage with our neighbors, it should not dampen our collective passion or purpose. I have no doubt that our club will continue to find new pathways to play a pivotal role in opening opportunities for young and old alike.

Thank you all for putting your faith in me, as your President. I’d also like to thank my Board of Directors, many of whom agreed to continue in their current role for the coming year.

My final thought to share with all of you is this. I vow to serve the club and all its members to the very best of my ability, and with all my heart, and look forward to working with each of you in the year ahead.

Yours in service,

Stefanie
