Hello everyone!
So many thanks to John Jagger and his team that brought us this year’s Adventure Golf Tournament for MDI Hospital’s Oncology Department. It was a fun, happy event with our first-ever putt-off for an individual winner, which makes it go down in Rotary club history, right? Thank you all for volunteering, playing, sponsoring holes and being involved. You make our club stronger and more fun.
SHELTERBOX
This week, we’ll have a presentation about ShelterBox, which is an international disaster relief charity that provides temporary shelter and life-saving supplies to displaced families. Rotary International is a project partner with ShelterBox.
LITTLE FREE LIBRARY NEEDS SOME BOOKS! Really.
The Park Street Playground’s Library is going strong and already getting a bit low on books. If you have books, please drop them off. I sent around a sign-up list to check on the Library during the summer months, but you don’t have to be on the list to stop by and drop off some books!
POLIO PRESCRIPTION BOTTLES
Don’t forget that we have a new method of collecting money for polio eradication via the prescription bottles available at the meetings. Just fill them with change, return, and you’ve helped save a life. All the money we raise is matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
ANNUAL MEETING
Please sign up soon for the annual meeting at Jack Russell’s Carriage House on
June 19, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Let
Colleen Maynard know how many will attend and your meal choices. You don’t want to have her chase you down. Please come. Even if we haven’t seen you in a while because life’s been in the way. It’s a great time to catch up and honor each other and check out the new Carriage House.
