In honor of World Polio Day, we hosted Purple Pinkie Day today as part of Rotary’s 35-year mission to eradicate the crippling disease polio. Club members painted pinkies for $1 to promote polio awareness at a table on Main Street between The First and Bar Harbor Bank & Trust earlier today. They also greeted guests visiting from The Emerald Princess, sharing news about Rotary and its efforts to eradicate polio.
There's still time to contribute by going to the Thirsty Whale Tavern for dinner tonight. The Whale will donate $1 per pint of beer sold between 11 a.m. and midnight.
