On a pretty hot night at The Hub, 18 of us joined for our Annual General Meeting and hearing from our Guest Speaker Natalie France – Director from Esprit de Vie.
Our 12 members were joined by visiting Rotarian Colin Welch, Guests Barbara Burnheim, Ros Byrne, Bill Waller and Carol Baldwin. We also welcomed our Guest Speaker Natalie France.
We enjoyed another 3 Course Dinner prepared by Chef Kouma and his wife and daughter. We are really blessed to enjoy such fine food.
The lucky Raffle Winner was Noel Hodges and Heads and Tails Bill Waller.
Neil Jones provided a note of Thank You to the Members of the Club for their compassion and attending the Funeral for Christine. A particular Thank You from the Club to Pauline for arranging the Flowers that Neil also commented on.

The Christmas Party this year will be held at Esprit de Vie 100 Lakeview Boulevard Mermaid Waters (our new home).
We will start on Cloud 7 (Level 7) for canapes and predinner drinks at 6 for 6.30pm, then we will move to the Restaurant on Level 1 to enjoy the following:

An outcome from our Meeting is that Bill Waller will be rejoining our Club and I am sure that we are all happy to have Bill back as a full-time member.
Guest Speaker Natali France – Director from Esprit de Vie (Spirit of Life) where both Graeme and Liz and Carol and I now live provided an overview of the Esprit de Vie concept, with Mermaid waters i where we are and the upcoming Mermaid Waters ii. Natalie highlighted the different types of Legislation and that the facilities operate under the Retirement Living Act – where Residents receive a 99 Year Licence to occupy their Unit. Further, Service Charges are limited to annual CPI increases and the Exit Fee after 5 years is capped at 25%. Mermaid Waters I is almost fully sold, with a few Units still available and Expressions of Interest are being taken for Mermaid Waters ii. Natalie answered numerous questions about the facility and the future plans. President Neil thanked Natalie for her presentation.

Minutes of the AGM held on 14 November 2023 were accepted.
The Financial Report prepared by Past Treasurer Neil Jones was adopted, with particular thanks to Neil for his role as Treasurer over the last 12 months, which was a particularly difficult period from a personal perspective.
Election of Positions for 2025/2026 was conducted and no nominations were forthcoming for any positions and it was resolved that current President/Secretary Neil Baldwin will continue in those roles for a further 12-month tenure.
The Board positions will be determined at a later date.
The Liability Insurance through District 9640 was noted and confirmed.
The Annual General Meeting closed after a Meeting lasting 10 Minutes.

ADVICE FROM OUR SISTER CLUB TAURANGA
Our 80th Anniversary has been confirmed for the weekend of April 5-6 2025, with a welcome meal on Friday night April 4th.
An Anniversary Dinner will be held on the Saturday night at the Armitage Hotel, where we now hold our Club meetings.
This is close to the down- town area, and where we suggest our visitors stay.
Our members may be able to host a few boarders, but we will not know any numbers until closer to the date.
We will have some sight- seeing organised for during the day, and if any attendees are golfers, we will probably organise a mini-international tournament.
It would be useful if we could have an estimate of the number of attendees from Broadbeach by say, 31 December.
