We had a good ‘role up’ last night on Zoom with guests Wayne Leathem, Rock O’Keefe and Honorary Rotarian Ian Cowen.
It was good to welcome Martin, our newly inducted Rotarian, on Zoom.

Also thanks to Les for arranging the necessary paperwork for Rock O’Keefe to transfer to our Club.
Rock is a very well respected member of Rotary and as well as serving as President on a number of occasions has been Chairman of RAWCS for four years.
He will bring a wealth of wisdom and expertise to our Club.
John Monks has arranged for the Hub to be fitted out with ‘whirly bird ventilation’ so meetings at the Hub in the future will be very pleasant particularly in the summer. Thanks John.

Through the Rotary Club of Lane Cove in 2015 Wayne established the Medical Repurposing Network.
The Network arranges for medical equipment to be provided to outback Australia via the Royal Flying Doctor Service and to our South Pacific neighbours at minimal cost.
Countries that have benefitted from the Network include New Guinea, Timor Leste, Fiji, the Solomon Islands and the Philippines.
Recently, medical equipment was provided by MRPN for southern NSW towns affected by the bushfires.
Work has just commenced at the Mens Shed, Arundel on the flat pack building designed for
Mauna Hospital, Pentecost. A working bee will be arranged by Harold in the near future to assist in painting the building and cataloguing the GCUH donated orthopaedic equipment that will be shipped along with the flat pack.
Later this year we will be applying to RI for a Global Grant in order to provide XR, blood autoanalysers and infrastructure for Mauna Hospital.
It is reassuring that the MRPN, a Rotary designed not for profit company, working with RAWCS can provide for the medical equipment required at Mauna Hospital.
The advantage of this equipment is that it is relatively low cost, portable, powered by batteries which can be recharged via solar panels, easy to operate, and can be transported to Pentecost directly from the factory.
The MRPN will save a lot of time, money and effort that would be incurred through sourcing and negotiating for second hand Australian medical equipment.

This meeting will be a ‘think tank’ and an opportunity for the incoming 2020/2021 Board to discuss their vision for next year.

An assistant to Donald Trump told him she had a fantastic dream last night.
There was a huge parade down Pennsylvania Avenue celebrating Trump.
Millions lined the parade route, cheering when the President went past.
Bands were playing; children were throwing confetti into the air; there were balloons everywhere.
It was absolutely the BIGGEST CELEBRATION WASHINGTON HAD EVER SEEN!!!
Trump was very impressed and said, "That's really great! By the way, how did I look in your dream? Was my hair okay?"
