Fellow Rotarians and Friends,

I hope you all had a safe Easter break with your family and the Easter Bunny delivered lots of eggs for all to enjoy.

Assistant Governor Shelia Ponting joined us Tuesday for a social evening at the Mermaid Waters Hotel. A nice evening was had by all.

A big thankyou to all that helped with the Bunnings BBQ on Easter Sunday. If any members can assist this Friday 14th April please contact Harold ASAP.

Our next meeting will be April 18th at the Hub. Chef Couma has another gourmet meal planned, so please book early as number are required by Friday.  We also need a few members to help clean up the hub on Tuesday morning. Please contact Peter Tomlinson and let him know if you can assist.

FROM OUR MEETING 11 APRIL 2023

Scribe: Neil Jones
Nine dedicated members and Christine Jones assembled at the Mermaid Waters Hotel Bistro to enjoy fellowship and dinner with our Assistant Governor Sheila Ponting.
After three years Sheila's term as Assistant Governor will end on 30 June so this was her last visit to our club in that role.

After solving all the major issues of the day and discussing many a trivial matter the gathering broke up just before 8.00 pm.

No photos available this week - "someone" was so engaged in all the discussion that he omitted to take any!!!!

WEEKLY LAUGHS
Some bad puns...
Wisdom doesn’t necessarily come with age. Sometimes age just shows up by itself.

I wanted to be a monk, but I never got the chants

A few puns make me numb, but math puns make me number.

I went to this horrible bar called The Fiddle, it really was a vile inn.

The problem with political jokes is that sometimes they get elected.

33% of people are very good at math.  The rest of us are the other 77%

I didn't think wearing orthopedic shoes would help me, but I stand corrected.
--------------------------------------------

Co-workers sympathized as my mother complained that her back was really sore from moving furniture. "Why don't you wait till your husband gets home?" someone asked. "I could," my mother told the group," but the couch is easier to move if he's not on it."
--------------------------------------------

Q: Why did the rooster cross the road?
A: To prove he wasn't a chicken.

Q: How do you make an egg roll?
A: Push it!

Q: How does a lumberjack start his computer?
A: By Logging On!

Q: What do you call a piece of wood with nothing to do?
A: Board!

Q: How do you kill a circus troupe?
A: Go for the juggler.

Q: What do you call a man with a car on his head?
A: Jack.

Q: How does the man in the moon get his hair cut?
A: Eclipse it.
