Another well attended meeting with 22 attending, including 16 members. Great to welcome Allison Borland, Alison Thomson, Roslyn Tomlinson and Marcella – a guest attending with Honorary member Uwe and Honorary member Kevin O’Brien was also with us.
Chef Kouma cooked up traditional Sri Lankan food and same as other nights no one went home hungry. Noel Hodges even had an impromptu wine tasting with a selection of Red Edge wines.
A special part of the night was officially welcoming Barbara Burnheim back as a member and presenting Broadbeach Rotary Badges to Ron and Allison Borland and Colin and Ruth Welch, following the transfer into our club by Ron and Colin.
It was with a deal of pleasure that Robert Thomson was inducted into our club, having been a member of Mermaid Beach previously. Our membership now stands at 22 members, with hopefully more to come.
Lucky Grahame Werrell won the raffle and Kevin O’Brien was successful in Heads and Tails.

Colin Welch has already managed to put just on $100 into the Club Account from containers from change deposits – thank you Colin for your efforts.
Remember our District Conference is being held at Southport Sharks 28/29 March and Neil Jones has ‘volunteered’ to represent our club at the Business session on Saturday afternoon. The following weekend Neil is also representing Broadbeach at the 80th Anniversary celebrations of our Sister Club in Tauranga New Zealand. Thank you to Neil for being our representative at both these events.
Just a further reminder about making a personal contribution to the Rotary Foundation and if you are preparing to do this, just advise Treasurer Noel Hodges of your contribution and bank it to the Club Account.
Our new van is operational and Harold is investigating some suitable signwriting and Honorary member Kevin is looking at how to secure the recovered ramp for use in the new Staria van.
I will be away for the Meeting on Tuesday 1 April and Vice President Neil J will welcome everyone to the meeting as Carol and I will be with fellow Rotary RV Fellowship members returning from Melbourne after attending the Melbourne International Garden and Flower Show.
