Presidents Message

Fellow Rotarians and Friends,

Another good attendance at our meeting and it was great to welcome Edwina Hutchison to the meeting and she was accompanied by Chinese Exchange Students – (Harri and Erazer) – hopefully that is pretty close to their names.

Roslyn Tomlinson was also in attendance as it was a special meeting for Peter Tomlinson who celebrated his 80th Birthday on Monday 2 June 2025 – congratulations Peter. Special thanks to Noel Hodges who baked an impressive Chocolate Birthday Cake for Peter, that was enjoyed by all – even after Chef Kouma had filled us with a Greek Feast.

What a surprise that Harri was successful in the Raffle and Erazer with Heads and Tails. Edwina was pretty chuffed that the 2 girls had been lucky with their wins and 2 bottles of wine were going home and unfortunately the girls are below the legal drinking age!

Harold advised that the Club has benefitted from the donation of 3 Mobility Scooters from Pacific Fair and we sincerely thank the centre for these donations, which will be added to our Mobility Scooter fleet.

Remember we have a sizzle at Bunning Molendinar on Friday 13 June 2025 and the roster is on the website.

Members are reminded that our final meeting for the 2024/25 Rotary Year will be on Tuesday 17 June 2025 at 6 for 6.30pm and is a Partners night and in lieu of a Changeover we will be having a Year in Review, with a PowerPoint presentation of the year – prepared by Neil Jones plus a Treasurers Report from Noel Hodges highlighting our finances. District have advised that Past District Governor Sandra Doumany will be representing District Governor Lisa on the night. Please register so that we can provide Chef Kouma with an accurate attendance for the evening.

Also, if you have not done so already, please advise Barbara Burnheim of your preferred member for the Bruce Duncan Fellowship Cup, that will be presented at our Year in Review.

Thank you to every member for supporting our club and assisting in our activities and the running of the club.

I am confident that members have had an enjoyable year and that Broadbeach Club is doing ‘Good in the World’ and will continue to do so in the next Rotary Year.

Yours in Rotary

Neil
