Presidents Message
Fellow Rotarians and friends,

I would like to thank all the members that helped with the Bunnings sausage sizzle last Saturday. It was the hottest day this summer but I’m sure it was even hotter cooking the sausages at the Bunning carpark. Another big effort by all and a very successful fundraiser towards our club projects.
We now have 4 more BBQs on 16th Feb, 1st March, 8th March and 21st April. Please register on the website if you can assist.

GC MAGIC  (Gold Coast Multicultural Arts Group In Collaboration Inc) will be using the hub to hold their weekly meetings. They are only a small club of a few members and meet during the day. Thankyou Harold for your ongoing work to make this happen. We look forward to meeting them soon and them helping with some of our projects and fundraisers.

Please join me on Tuesday 13th  February for our next meeting at the hub.

Yours in Rotary,

Andrew

Welcome Gold Coast Magic

We welcome Gold Coast Magic art group to our HUB as a cohabitant. We look forward to sharing commonalities between our groups. Already one of their group, Vasrim Vasiri (pictured below with Pauline & Harold) has assisted on a sausage sizzle fundraiser.

FROM OUR MEETING 23 JANUARY 2024

Scribe: Neil Jones
Fourteen were in attendance including Nerang Rotarians PP Mehmet Tavli and current President Michelle Tavli.
Fantastic to have Alex Jorden back with us after a lengthy illness.

Sergeant Noel opened proceedings and introduced President Andrew who welcomed all and introduced our guests.
Andrew reported on the very successful outcome of our Christmas Toy Drive and also advised that Bunnings has donated the paint for the club's Lady Small Haven Dementia Courtyard project. Three coats of undercoat is necessary before our artist can start on the wall mural - volunteers required and should contact Andrew.

Noel conducted a sergeant's session based around good news stories and then promptly won the door raffle.  Jim Hawkins won Heads & Tails.

Guest speaker Mehmet Tavli presented on the container home for Turkiye project Nerang Rotary Club has just completed and for which Broadbeach had contributed $500. At the request of the local community the project was redirected to provide a replacement primary school classroom.

Mehmet also mentioned that his club's $50,000 raffle was continuing and would now be drawn on Valentine's Day so if you have a ticket you are still a chance of winning the big prize.

The meeting closed at 7.55pm.
