Fellow Rotarians and Friends,
 
Thanks to all members who gave up their time to assist with the Bunnings BBQ and the scooter roster. A big thankyou to Noel and kay Hodges for our delicious dessert on Tuesday night at the hub and arranging the Chinese meal. It was also nice to see all the partners and guests at the hub
 
Please remember to book your accommodation if you are attending the district 9640 conference in Yamba. Conference dates are March 10th,11th and 12th and tickets are available from the District 9640 website.
 
Tuesday next Week will be a social night at Emerald Lakes golf Club. We will meet at 6pm for pre-dinner drinks then order your meal from the club menu.

Reminder to members about Registering for the District Conference to be held at Yamba from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 March 2023. Numbers are limited for Golf on the Friday and River Cruise on the Sunday, so members are encouraged to book early.

FROM OUR MEETING TUESDAY 24 JANUARY 2023

Honorary member and Sergeant Kevin O’Brien introduced President Andrew.
President Andrew welcomed all present including guests Barbara Burnheim and Lee Morgan
Thank you to Noel Hodges who organised a delightful 6 course Chinese dinner together with delicious desserts that he had made.
President Andrew reminded us of the upcoming District conference and encouraged everyone to book early especially for the Dinner, Golf and Cruise
Andrew also reminded us of the upcoming breakfast in support of the Pentecost Island project
A gift from our sister Club Kasaoka for our 50th anniversary was displayed.
A presentation was made to Neil Jones in regard to him of returning the winning ($1327.41) for the Punters Club in 2022
 
John Monks gave an overview, supplemented by a Power Point presentation for the evacuation and first response procedures for the Hub . This included:
  • Having a trial evacuation of the building
  • Persons requiring assistance.
  • Emergency Control Organisation (ECO)
  • What to do if you discover a fire
  • Emergency evacuation signs and diagram
  • Fire extinguishers in buildings and operating instructions
  • Colour codes for emergency procedures
  • A copy of all instructions is kept at the Hub.
A practice evacuation of the building was organised and satisfactorily conducted.
 
Sergeant Kevin conducted a lively session he called the “Happy Dollar” where  happy stories of events were told by some of those present.
The raffle was won by Pat Curr and heads and Tails be Cec McPaul
 
President Andrew thanked all for coming along and to Noel Hodges for his organisation of the meal, and John Curr for his work at the Bar
 
The meeting closed at 8.07pm
