Members and guests were welcomed by Vice President Pauline who introduced outgoing President Peter.
Peter welcomed all present and particularly D9640 Governor's Representative PDG Darrell Brown and Rotaractor Paul Bosch.
The interlude between entree and main course was partially filled with the usual power point presentation “12 Months in 12 Minutes” compiled by the bulletin editor and which gave an excellent overview in pictures of Club activities month by month over the past year
Following main course Rock O'Keefe proposed a toast in memory of all deceased members and particularly Past Presidents Ian Cowen & Neil Raward who had passed away during this Rotary Year.
Toast to Rotary International was proposed by Nayer Kaviani with a response by PDG Darrell Brown
President Peter presented PHF’s to PP Jim Hawkins (PHF+4), Bob Jordan (PHF +3 and finally to Roslyn Tomlinson for her many years of support to the club and particularly her special contribution to Hub clean up days.
With Ray Milton, holder of the Bruce Duncan Fellowship Cup no longer with us, Peter announced this year's winner; Pauline Armstrong and presented Pauline with the perpetual trophy.
President Peter presented his annual report highlighting our service projects & key achievements during the year, the contribution of the Board and the special efforts from many members.
Induction of President Andrew McTaggart
President Peter inducted 2022-2023 President with his collar of office, President's pin and dinner badge.
President Andrew presented PP Peter with his Past President certificate and dinner badge. President Andrew then introduced his Board and presented them with their Rotary Theme badges for the 2022–2023 year.
Andrew's first role as President was to conduct the final Silver Circle draws with the help of Darrell Brown. $50 prizes were won by Phillip O'Shea (Narelle's Dad), Nayer Kaviani, Ariel (SPG Lawyers) and Neil Jones. Pauline Armstrong won the $250 prize and Russ Hutchison collected the first prize of $500. The Silver Circle raised a net $950 which will be directed towards the Club's 50th Anniversary celebrations.
In his President's address, Andrew thanked everyone for their attendance and looked forward to a successful year.
PDG Darrell Brown then requested permission to make a special presentation announcing that Neil Jones has been awarded the Rotary Foundation's most prestigious award, The Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award.
