Another meeting held at The Hub and unfortunately our numbers were down to 14, which is disappointing as we have to pay for a minimum of 15 for catering.
On the topic of catering – Chef Kouma again provided a great feast with the theme for this meeting being Thai food – which was very tasty and enjoyed by all present.
In the absence of a Guest Speaker, we had a discussion about ‘Changeover on 17 June’ and the way forward. Good to hear from members on their thoughts for the future.
Robert Thomson was the lucky Raffle winner and Barbara Burnheim of Heads and Tails.
Just a reminder about the 2 upcoming District Assemblies – Saturday 17 May – Boonah State High School or Saturday 24 May – Casino West Public School. If members are interested in attending there is a registration fee of $40 and Treasurer Noel will be happy to reimburse should members register.
Harold provided an update on the Mobility Scooter Program, with some recipients returning their scooters and then in turn being reallocated. Harold also touched on the advertising that could be added to the new van.
Thank you to members who assist, from the sizzles, scooters and especially the cleaning and set up of The Hub. Colin continues to excel with the refunds rolling in from Containers for Change.
Ron highlighted the Rotary Friendship Exchange with members from Arizona and looking for hosts over the period 18-19-20 October 2025. Ron will provide further details with reference to the Programme being developed for this visit.
Congratulations to Neil Jones who celebrates 39 Years of Rotary Membership on 11 May.
