ROTARY YOUTH PROGRAM OF ENRICHMENT
RYPEN is a Rotary International youth program held at Camp Bornhoffen in the Gold Coast hinterland. It is intended to assist young people to challenge themselves, extend their boundaries, and develop positive behaviours in a supportive environment. The RYPEN schedule is a mix of guest-speaker sessions, team-based activities and physical activities. The value of teamwork & the importance of taking part rather than winning is emphasised in all activities. Our team establishes an atmosphere of fun where it is hard not to have a great time. The program has been running for many years and is held in Rotary districts all across the world. Bornhoffen PCYC is the venue for the RYPEN camp. As anyone who has been lucky enough to make the trip into the Numinbah Valley will attest, this is indeed a breathtaking location. The program is for youth aged fourteen to sixteen years who would love a weekend packed with activities, entertaining speakers & opportunities to learn and to make new friends.
Our club is seeking to sponsor one or more young people to attend the program which this year will be held from May 25th to May 27th and Youth Director Noel would welcome details of any potential nominees. Applications close on 10 May.
Commonwealth Games - Housekeeping
This is for your interest only resulting from our District’s involvement in the Commonwealth Games.
Our services at the Games Village resulted in the following earnings. Well done! It was a massive exercise coordinated by the District.
All of this money earned will be ploughed back into charities. Read the RDU article next month.

Limited calling for nominations from clubs for a representative who will be President of that Club for the 2018-2019 year to be a member of the Board of Company Directors of Rotary

As only one nomination from member clubs was received within the designated time frame in the name of Pauline Armstrong of the Rotary Club of Broadbeach, it is therefore declared that Pauline Armstrong be duly elected to the position of Queensland Representative on the Board of Directors for Rotary year 2018-2019.

New South Wales:
It is declared that Wendy Scarlett of the Rotary Club of Tweed Heads South be duly elected to the position of New South Wales Representative on the Board of Directors for Rotary year 2018-2019.
