Tuesday night was a fun night when we returned to “My Place”, the Chinese restaurant.
As we are now a smaller group it is difficult to attract speakers to our regular meetings. The general consensus this week was an alternative to the hotel and everyone seemed to enjoy the fellowship of the members, their partners and the delicious food for the evening.
Andrew has started a Silver Circle at $25 per ticket with 100 tickets for sale. You can pick your own number(s) so please see Andrew on Tuesday night to secure your favourite numbers. Thanks to Andrew for this effort.
We now only have just over a week until the conference at Tenterfield (now called Expo)
One of International President Shekhar Mehta's initiatives is to encourage projects to empower girls and many clubs undertake projects such as Days for Girls, support for St Jude's and many other projects in line with Shekhar's initiative. If anyone has a project in mind please talk to the Board.

In response to the deepening humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, The Rotary Foundation has created an official channel for Rotary members around the world to contribute funds to support the relief efforts underway by Rotary districts and has designated its Disaster Response Fund as the main avenue for contributions. Trustees have decided to prioritize contributions, including unallocated District Designated Funds, made to the Disaster Response Fund until 30 April. So far, the fund has received more than $2 million. Any district can apply for disaster response grants to support the Ukrainian relief efforts.

What a night, lots of laughs and excellent food plus a little Rotary business, what else do you want ?
Sixteen members and partners had a terrific night ,food was first class, drinks very cheap and Andrew managed to sell several of his bonus draw tickets.
Parking is very easy there and it is geographically , by member domicile the centre for the majority of the club members.
I understand they have a suitable area which is not visible from the restaurant so it may be worthwhile looking at it as a possible occasional meeting area but that is up to the new board and members.
Next week at the Hub,we are open to alternate food suppliers if anyone has any suggestions, I personally am happy with Chris who has always been very good to us and on a couple of occasions assisted when we were in a spot of bother for catering.
Hope to see greater numbers next week. Will you please register by Sunday p.m. when I confirm the numbers with Chris.

WEEKLY LAUGHS
Conflicting Proverbs
Actions speak louder than words.
The pen is mightier than the sword.
Look before you leap.
He who hesitates is lost.
Many hands make light work.
Too many cooks spoil the broth.
Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.
Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
Clothes make the man.
Don't judge a book by its cover.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Better safe than sorry.
What will be, will be.
Life is what you make it.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
One man's meat is another man's poison.
The more, the merrier.
Two's company; three's a crowd
It's no wonder we're all confused.
