Presidents Message
Fellow Rotarians and friends,

Unfortunately, due to the huge downpour last Friday morning we had to cancel the BBQ at Bunnings, but they have rescheduled another date for us. Thank you to all the members that put their hand up to assist and fingers crossed for a fine day at our next BBQ.
Our next BBQ dates are Friday the 1st and 8th of March.

Last Tuesday it was a pleasure to meet Mehran, Nasrin and Rozita from GCMAGIC. All their members are very excited to be meeting at the hub so please  make them feel welcome.

The lucky winner of the Nerang Rotary Club raffle was Rona Viola. Rona had the lucky ticket and won $50,000 in cash. She donated $1000 to Nerang Rotary. Stay tuned for the next club fundraising event.

Please join me on Tuesday 27th  February for our next meeting at the hub followed by a board meeting. Remember all members are welcome to attend the board meeting.

Yours in Rotary,

Andrew

New peace center in Turkey
Rotary clubs and districts have begun recruiting candidates for the next class of Rotary Peace Fellows, including for the newest Rotary Peace Center at Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul, Turkey. The center was made possible by a US$15.5 million pledge from the Otto and Fran Walter Foundation and approved by Rotary Foundation Trustees in early 2023. The new center will offer experienced peacebuilders the opportunity to complete a one-year professional development certificate program, earning postgraduate diplomas in peace and development studies. Learn more about the new center at Bahçeşehir University and how to recruit candidates for a peace fellowship.
