Guest speaker tonight was Nerida Dean , introduced by Bruce Kuhn, who is a Australian Rotary Health Ambassador. 25 year Rotary Member and Past ADG.
Tonight she alerted us to some of the interesting information and facts about what it does in the big scheme of things, which many of us are unaware of.
Australian Rotary Health (ARH) is one of the largest Independent funders of mental health within Australia.
Established in 1981, ARH has now funded over $52 million in research.
While we do provide funding into areas of health that do not readily attract funding, we also play a significant role in spreading awareness of mental health issues our Lift the Lidcampaign.
Her theme for tonight - Improving the Mental Health of 0-12 year olds.
Research into SIDs now reduced as we understand it and how to deal with it.
Research funds are used carefully if there is no progress then research is stopped.
Kits for children who bed-wet can get supplies thru Rotary Health.
Research into eating disorders and body image in children.
Very low donation support. Rotary Clubs or individual members can donate direct to ARH - BSB 112879 - Acc 065433595 your name.
