Fellow Rotarians and Friends,
I was pleased to stand in for President Neil at last weeks meeting whilst he and Carol were off cruising and it is on his behalf that I write this note.
We had 15 in attendance including guest Barbara Burnheim and we also welcomed back chef Koumar who fed us a treat as usual. On this occasion Teriyaki Chicken with Asian slaw and crispy noodles followed by slow cooked beef brisket with grattan potato pota and vegetables with Jus and topped off with Crème Brûlée.
The Hub had been readied for the meeting by Peter and Roslyn Tomlinson, Colin Welch and yours truly. Cec was on the door as usual and Bill Rex was serving the drinks. Thanks to you all as well as those that helped to clean up afterwards.
The meeting was essentially a fellowship one but we were also updated by Harold as to progress with the insurance claim for the stolen club van. Harold also advised of a second break in which involved the démontable building at the rear - an old air conditioner was stolen, apparently for its scrap metal value!!!
Noel advised that he was trialing new wine casks which are of very good quality and will reduce wastage as they are good for a month after opening. We trust you Noel.
David won the raffle and donated the prize back to the Club. Noel won Heads & Tails.
Just a couple of reminders:
District Conference is being held in our backyard at Sharks Friday 28 March to Sunday 30 March and hopefully many of us will attend. Registration can be made via the District 9640 website.
Remember to bring your empty bottles and cans to The Hub each meeting for collection and recycling by Colin.
President Neil will be back for our meeting on 4 March when our guest speaker will be Robert (Bob) Shaw and has been designated as a partners night. See you then.
