Wow. Many thanks to Colin, Ruth and Neil for a wonderful evening. We welcomed members from Mermaid Beach Rotary and many friends and relatives of wonderful people who came along to the evening. Many, many thanks To Colin for the wine and the keepsake biros to commemorate the evening. There was a lot of discussion at and between tables and much groaning when answers were provided for the various and varied subjects.
Kumar, as usual, provided a delicious meal and I think I can speak for us all and declare the evening a success. The raffle prizes went to various tables and the winning table was awarded gift bags which included Burleigh Bears/Sports Club $25 gift cards per person.
A reminder to all that we have the visit to the Wax Museum next Tuesday , courtesy of Peter and Rosslyn. The tour will start promptly at 6.00 so please allow time for parking. You also need to indicate when accepting [in the comments section] if you are coming to dinner for more fellowship at the Clock Hotel.
See you there.
Yours in Rotary
VP Pauline

A keynote speech by Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai was a highlight of the 2026 Rotary International Convention in Taipei. We caught up with her afterward for a conversation about her advocacy for girls' education and what makes her so brave. She also has a message for Rotary members. Read the interview.
