DESCRIPTION:We have deferred our plan to have Gary Poole from Act for Kids 
 as our guest speaker tonight to a later date due to the unavailability of 
 sufficient members.  Instead we will have an informal dinner at The Bistr
 o of the Lone Star Tavern. Act for Kids is an Australian charity providing
  free therapy and support services to children and families who have exper
 ienced\, or are at risk of child abuse and neglect. We have helped thousan
 ds of children and families for over 30 years. Act for Kids operates over 
 28 centres with a team of over 430 staff from Adelaide all the way up to t
 he Cape York Peninsula. Our services have expanded to include integrated t
 herapy\, support for vulnerable families\, special workshops to empower ki
 ds and safe houses in remote Aboriginal communities.
