BRIDGE April 29, 2015 for the meeting of May 6

A message arrived by email from President Fred the day before the meeting, “Charlie, you are the speaker”.  That did get my attention.  It was an icebreaker that Fred has used in business meetings and it was successful in rallying club members in sharing some aspect of their lives with others.   Members wrote down their little known experiences on paper, and then had all try to decide who had the experience.  Much fun was had.

“Reaching out” (secret words) to missing members was considered.  Fred suggests that members call them to say that they are being missed, we were thinking about them and how are they doing.  Do it in such a way as to not provoke guilt about not attending meetings.

Candy Weiler of the Council on Aging has sent the club the form for a $150.00 sponsorship for a golf hole to raise funds for the Duxbury Senior Center.  We have agreed to do this.

The issue of the Nepal earthquake disaster is being considered by Rotary and as relief efforts become more organized and focused as to needs we will get more information in how we can assist.

Steve reports that $2,250.00 has been collected for the placemat ads on our way to the $6,000.00 goal.

Fred will speak to the Principal of the High School about involving the students in the Duck Daze race using the Duct Tape boats.
