DUXBURY ROTARY CLUB

Wednesday, October 4, 2017 for the Director’s Meeting of Oct. 11

Razia will be in the Boston area in November and would like the club to help her set up a meeting for local friends so that she can give up-dates on the schools progress.  She will also be at the Rotary Foundation Dinner Thursday November 9 where she will be the featured speaker.  Deadline to sign up is Nov. 1.  The cost is $45.00 per person.  Our club will reserve a table for ten.

Karl would like to introduce the Babcocks to the club for possible membership.

There was a lot of discussion about how Duxbury Rotary could “Make a Difference” in helping to relieve the suffering caused by the hurricane in Puerto Rico.  President Fred has a contact with a connection to the town of “Caguas” (secret town) and to the Caguas Rotary Club who is helping him with how best to assist with relief.

Fred has been very busy preparing for the placemat mat fundraiser.  He has alphabetized the list of placemat donors of past years and prepared two letters to send out asking for donations.  One is for former donors and one is for new.  He has signed all of the letters and made envelopes.  At the meeting members selected businesses to contact.

MEMBERSHIP: George is improving.
Abdul is in need of blood donors.  His son will be informing Fred on how, when and where this can be done.

SCHEDULE: Oct. 11, 5:45 PM Director’s Meeting at Fred’s home.
Oct.18, 6:30 PM Regular meeting.
