An impromptu forum was inspired by a discussion held at the library on Monday evening about suicides. The event that was sponsored by No Place for Hate.

 

It was voted to support the Interfaith Council with a contribution for their summer campership program.

 

President Cheryl and Chuck and his wife accompanied Bill Campbell who received our nomination to be recognized as an outstanding volunteer in our area.  The award lunch was held at the District Conference on May 3 in Newport.  250 people were in attendance at the lunch to see the 30 volunteers receive their recognition.

 

Steve has $4,675.00 in contributions for the placemat ads.

 

Fred is working on enhancing the Duck Race with special events that would be sponsored by various businesses.   The businesses would be recognized in our publicity and in articles in the paper.  Selling tickets will begin the last week in May.

 

PROGRAMS: May 13, an evening meeting.  “Lindsay” (secret name) Conway will be talking about her RYLA experience.

 

FINES/RAFFLE: Karen and Ling are celebrating an anniversary.  Charlie W. won $1.00 in the raffle.
