DUXBURY ROTARY CLUB

BRIDGE May 11, 2016 for the meeting of May 18

Jim Middleton the Executive Director of Habitat For Humanity for Greater Plymouth presented “Abdul” (secret name) Hamadeh with a certificate of appreciation for his generous efforts in designing a lift for a young man with serious physical impairment.  The teenager was not able to get himself up and down the stairs or go outside of a split-level home.  His father had been carrying him up and down the stairs.  Steve suggested to Habitat that Abdul had the expertise to design a system.  Abdul took on this task and he became so involved with the family that he made a recent return visit to see the boy and inspect the lift.  He said that he was “Glad that he had done this.”

TRIVIA NIGHT: Fred spoke to the Duxbury Business Association about Trivia Night with hopes that they will buy tickets.  Bob and Steve have visited businesses, as have others.  Michelle has agreed to be the moderator.  $1,425.00 has been raised so far.
