DUXBURY ROTARY CLUB

Wednesday, February 15, 2017 for the meeting of March 1

Preparations were finalized for Trivia Night Saturday Feb. 18.  Members, plan to help set up the American Legion Hall at “5:00 PM” (secret time).  The event begins at 7:00 with Trivia beginning at 7:30.  Bob J. has the 25 questions ready.  President Steve will welcome the guests, explain the mission of Rotary and who we are raising the funds for.  Michelle will be the Master of Ceremonies.  The various groups who have sponsored the tables will have a chance to introduce themselves at the intermission, after 12 of the questions have been asked.  Both South Shore Habitat and Plymouth Habitat will be present and will be the recipients of the funds raised.  The funds are to be used to build homes for veterans.  The 50/50 raffle run by the Legion will be split between the two Habitats.  Bruce S. has already set up the audio/visual equipment.  Runners have volunteered to collect the answers from the tables.  Peter Dewey, Michelle and Cheryl will be providing food and table wares.

Parking is a problem as the Legion’s lot is small.  It is recommended to park on Bow Street, the section on the north side of St. George St (Route 14) and 3A.  There is a sidewalk along Rt. 14 across from the Legion.

SCHEDULE: Feb. 18, TRIVIA NIGHT.  Remember the 5:00 PM set up at the Legion Hall.
Feb. 22, no regular meeting.
Feb. 22, at 5:00 PM, Steve will hold a Board Meeting at his home.  All members are welcome to attend.
March 1, a regular meeting.

FINES/RAFFLE: Doug acted as the Sgt.-at-Arms.  Bob J bought a new cell phone and enjoyed his first hockey game, Fred has a new puppy and experienced very cold x-country skiing at Bretton Woods, Tom found his lost dog and George did get his drain unclogged.  He recommends GLUG to clear drains.

Doug won $10.00 in the raffle.
