DUXBURY ROTARY CLUB
Wednesday December 21, 2016 for the meeting of January 11, 2017
Bob Hebb inducted our newest member Tom Dromey. President Steve was his sponsor. To the best of our memories, Tom and his son Doug are the first father and son members of the Duxbury Club. Tom’s classification is Transportation, Third Party Logistics.
Diane, Fred and Linda visited with Jack and June O’Neil and had dinner with them. It was much appreciated by the O’Neils.
It is hoped that the two teenage holiday gift recipients of Housing Solutions will be able to meet Razia, the donor of the gifts, and to learn about her Razia’s interesting story about founding the girl’s school in Afghanistan.
SCHEDULE: Dec, 28, no meeting.
Dec. 30, a Friday, New Year’s party at the Senior Center. Show up at 11:30, dressed in a black tie, white shirt and black pants, prepared to serve the dinner to the 80 guests who have signed up to attend. Steve will be sending out more information.
Jan. 4, “Board” (secret word) Meeting 5:30 PM at President Steve’s home. Any member is welcome to attend. Note, only Board Members can vote.
Jan. 11, regular meeting with friends of Bob J. who will speak about a trip to Cuba in May sponsored by the Dartmouth Rotary Club. The president of the club was a former student of Bob’s.
Jan. 25, Dick Rothschild wants to speak about banning plastic bags in Duxbury.
Feb. 8, Joanne Moore speaking about the Senior Center expansion.
Feb. 18, Trivia Night
FINES/RAFFLE: Bob H. collected the fines. Steve reported on having delivered the gifts for the Housing Solutions children. Michelle’s father is having a tough time with health issues. Michelle won $2.00 in the raffle.
