DUXBURY ROTARY CLUB

BRIDGE August 3, 2016 for the meeting of Aug. 10

President Steve will be setting up committees to help him run the club which will include; Speaker Selection and Scheduling, Charitable Donation Selection, Events planning and District Rotary Liaison.

The every other meeting change will not take effect in August as the month is filled with other projects.  All members in attendance gave their feelings about the meeting schedule and there were reservations on how the skipped meetings would or would not affect attendance.  This idea will be given further thought.  There was a desire to have good speakers, more fun and create enthusiasm at meetings and to have more social events.  Other issues brought up were getting programs for younger members such as Rotaract and opportunities to travel to other countries.

Steve feels that being elected as President of the club is an honor and a responsibility to share as well as a rewarding experience.  Hopefully when the time comes, members will step up to the plate.

Taking part in District events is desirable such as the conferences, workshops, and Rotary sponsored sporting events.

Bruce Rutter placed an article in the “Duxbury Clipper” (secret publication) about Duxbury Rotary support of scholarships.  Look for it.

Steve reports that our contribution to the Habitat For Humanity Veteran’s housing was recently presented.
