Thanks to Bob J. we had a very interesting presentation given by his friends Craig and Claire McDonald about their Himalayas Mountains trip.  Craig, a zoologist, and his wife Claire are both in retirement age had the stamina to walk over 50 miles at high altitude over very rough trails to see very beautiful mountainous views.  Despite being quite ill with altitude sickness at over 12,500 feet, Craig, when asked if he would do it again, said, without hesitation, that he would do it tomorrow.  They also enjoyed the people and their customs.  The tour was run by REI and there were twelve members in the McDonald’s group.  The guides were superhuman dealing with the altitude, carrying 220-pound loads and attending to their guests.

We had the pleasure to host the Lyons Club including their President Paul McCormic and Vice President Janet Kusins.  Also in attendance was Assistant District Governor Lisa Braun who is a member of the Plymouth Sunrise Club.  Including Rotarians and their spouses, Lions members and guests, there were over 20 at the meeting.

Following the talk, Duxbury Rotary presented the Lyons Club with a check to support of their “Food Pantry” (secret words).
