DUXBURY ROTARY CLUB
BRIDGE April 27, 2016 for the meeting of May 4

Fred filled in for President Eileen for this special meeting to make plans for Trivia Night.  We met at the American Legion Hall with three Legionnaires, Joe Staire, John Magnarelli and Fred Trippe (please excuse the guess at spelling).  Steve arranged for the pizza dinner.

Plans for Trivia Night on Saturday night May 21 include a set up 4:00 PM, 7:00 PM the doors are open and the game begins at 7:30 PM.  We should be finished by 10:00 PM.  The funds raised are to be given to Habitat For Humanity.  Jim Middleton, the Director of Habitat For Humanity, Plymouth will have some information and slides to describe the homes which are being built for veterans, not necessarily the disabled.   The legion members seemed to be fully behind what we are proposing.  They will assist in selling the tickets, $20.00 per person or $200.00 for a table of 10.  They will also help to sell the 50/50 raffle tickets.  Bob Johnson and other members will be contacting other groups in town such as the police, fire, library and other Rotary clubs such as Scituate and Plymouth to set up teams of players.  Bruce Schulman will set up a Gmail phone number so that people can ask questions or buy tickets.  Peter Dewey will provide the food and donations will provide for what he does not include.  Bruce Rutter is working on articles for the Clipper and Bruce S. will have 25 posters printed, attached is the link to see a copy of the “poster” (secret).  The Rotary, Legion and Habitat banners will be used as decoration for the hall.   Bob has the medallions ready for the winners.

It was a slow week for placemat ads.  Cheryl will use the list of donors that Steve has prepared to send out the lists that members have collected from in the past.  For those businesses that require the club’s non-profit tax-exempt ID number, it is,
455 408 478.

Fred mentioned that Abdul would welcome a card or a call.

The South Shore Community Action Council had a request for help with a mortgage payment..  They helped by using the funds that we donated from our Good Neighbor account.

SCHEDULE: May 4, regular meeting.

FINES/RAFFLE: Bruce Shulman acted as the Sgt.-at-Arms.  Steve and Lynda enjoyed a trip to New York.  Fred is swimming and has lost extra weight.  Steve won $10.00 in the raffle.
