This request for volunteers comes to us from our friend Dana iLittle of Androscoggin Land Trust.

Lots to Gardens is a program run by St. Mary's Health System under the Nutrition Center and serves a diverse population of people who love to garden and need space to grow food for their families.

We need at least 10 people to help ready the gardens for spring planting.

On Wednesday April 5:

Meet at Hillview Garden at 77 Rideout Avenue Lewiston at 9am with expected completion time at noon. Rain date will be Friday April 7 at the same time and place.

Goals:

1. pull out wood raised beds and replace with concrete blocks.

2. spreading of wood chips and mulch to build paths.

3. build up beds with compost.

Physical requirements: although heavy lifting may be involved, there is plenty to do that does not involve lifting and all abilities are welcome.  The Hillview Garden is handicap accessible.

Tools: none needed as these will be provided. If you prefer to bring your own tools that is fine too. Work gloves will be provided but you may also wish to bring your own.
