 LAST WEEK

Our guest speaker last week was James Murphy, who spoke about Placemaking in Whitehorse.
He works part time for the City of Whitehorse and is responsible for one of its newest initiatives

Activate Whitehorse.

Activate Whitehorse is a council placemaking initiative that encourages people to work together to activate places in Whitehorse.

Quoting from the council website
“It is about sharing ideas and passions with the broader community.
Activations invigorate our places,
making them vibrant, welcoming and utilised.
These qualities are essential for building and supporting
the community and local economy.”

REPORTS
CLEAN UP WHITEHORSE
from Rick Soydal

We had a wonderful clean up event along the Nunawading to Blackburn bike track. We collected about six full bags of rubbish and one full bag of recyclables! It was great to meet participants from other Whitehorse Cluster clubs.
A special thanks to RC of Nunawading and NewGen members Gabby, Wendy, Ian Armstrong, Rick and Naomi Ferguson who represented our club in this successful event.

The cards will be given to ROBWC who will pass them on to their clients, enabling them to buy something they need/want at Christmas.

Using the proceeds from the Grinder Burger fundraiser at the café, they have purchased 10 gift cards towards the cause, and seek our support in adding to that collection.

The collection ends on Dec 23rd.
