Sue Dymond with Rotarian, Michael Sukkar MP accepting a 2017 Deakin Community Award.

Sue Dymond is the found of iDareU  (Inspiring through Awareness, Resources, Empowerment & Unity).  iDareU is Sue's brainchild as an international author, public speaker, carer and dedicated mum of a child with Down syndrome.. She has been passionate about creating an online and offline resource system that empowers and educates those with a disability, and the people that love them.

Sue was born and raised in rural Queensland and firmly believes that "it takes a village to raise a child", She was 30 years old when her daughter Chloe was born and admits that, through "fear and ignorance" she probably would have not gone through the pregnancy if she was given a choice. She is deeply concerned that in parts of Europe there are deliberate government policies to reduce the incidence of children born with this condition.

She is proud of the fact that Chloe has made her a better person and she now wants to share her knowledge and experience with those who find the situation very daunting.

President Phil announced at the meeting that the proceeds of the weekly raffle were donated to iDareU.
