Bernie's Brief

Hi all,

It was great to hear from our local Library last week. I’m sure everyone took something valuable from the meeting. It’s amazing to see how much things have changed, our library has truly become a hub of activity for the community, far beyond just books.

We also appreciated having Tristan join us, our representative for the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF). We look forward to hearing about his experience when he formally meets with us in March. It was wonderful to have him with us this week.

Next week we move into our working groups, and I’m looking forward to hearing how everyone is progressing. It’s always a great night to see how well we work together, it really is an enjoyable evening.

Yours in Rotary

ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF DAY

Our Annual Charity Golf Day is almost here, and the excitement is building!

To help make the day even more enjoyable, we’re currently seeking donations of prizes for our Lucky Number Draw, which will be held during lunch once everyone has finished their round. Items such as wine or beer, books, puzzles, glassware, giftware, chocolates, or any other suitable prizes would be very gratefully received. Every donation—big or small—helps add to the fun and boosts our fundraising efforts.

And of course, we’d love to see plenty of golfers out on the course! If you’re interested in playing, or you know someone who’d enjoy a great day of golf for great causes, please add your name to the list and feel free to share the details with friends, family, or colleagues. Let’s make this year’s Charity Golf Day another fantastic success!

RIDE FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH

The Ride for Medical Research is organised by the Rotary District 9815 Ride for Medical Research Team. Over the past 40 years, Rotary Districts 9810 and 9820 have raised an incredible $2,476,285 for Australian Rotary Health, supporting vital medical research across the country.

The next annual ride will be held 22–27 March 2026, marking 40 years of dedication to funding life-changing research. 🚴‍♂️Riders will cover approximately 578 km, setting out each day from the Bendigo base and spending six days exploring the surrounding countryside.
