As we approach World Polio Day next week on Thursday, October 24th, we invite you to join us in recognition of this important occasion. Please come to our meeting on Tuesday night wearing something red and bring a gold coin donation. All contributions will be forwarded to Polio Plus, helping to eradicate this disease worldwide.
Our upcoming meeting will also feature our Working Groups, where there's a lot to discuss. The ideas shared during our recent Club Workshop have sparked some exciting initiatives, and we look forward to diving into these discussions together.
Reflecting on our last meeting, we were truly inspired by Nic and Sydney's presentation about their RYLA experience. It was heartwarming to hear how profoundly the program impacted them. Nic expressed how invaluable the experience was, emphasizing that every dollar spent on his participation was worth it. He gained not only confidence but also lasting friendships, highlighting the positive outcomes of such programs.
Additionally, we had the pleasure of presenting a $5,000 donation to Penny and Julie from the Connecting Kids program. It's uplifting to know that this contribution will allow youth to engage in local sporting activities, ensuring they don't miss out on valuable experiences.
Looking ahead, I am excited about the opening of the Youth Skills Shed this Wednesday. The dedication and planning that have gone into this project are commendable, and it's wonderful to see it come to fruition with its first group of participants. With a diverse range of skills on the timetable, I am confident they will enjoy and benefit from this unique opportunity.

As you are aware the 'Colour Their Lives' Gala Ball is just over 4 weeks away. The RSVP date is October 30th which is 2 weeks from today.
All funds raised at this event will be supporting the Monash Children's Hospital Cancer Centre to help make it possible to deliver Apheresis Therapy on-site rather than seriously ill children and their families having the need to transfer to the Royal Children's Hospital then back to Monash again. Mark and I will be attending and it will be great for some other members of our Club to be represented. There is a flyer further in the bulletin with all the details. It promises to be a fun filled night, enjoying great food and entertainment with the fabulous Baker Boys Band and a 'very special surprise segment' as well as some informative guest speakers.
Dress up, let your hair down, kick back and relax or dance the night away but most of all, enjoy the evening.
