WEEKLY BULLETIN    VOLUME 8   ISSUE 31  25th February 2025

Monique's Message

Over the past month, I’ve put considerable thought into what it means to be a Rotarian and how we can effectively communicate this to potential members. This has come about since the presentation on “Value Proposition’. This hit a chord with me, and I’m pleased to share that Jim has published my insights on our website, focusing on our motivations for joining Rotary and the inherent value of our membership. I strongly believe that these ideals should guide our recruitment efforts and conversations with prospective members. I also wrote about the Value Proposition on volunteering, highlighting how personalising the experience of volunteering can impact our lives. https://rotaryboronia.org.au/whats-in-it-for-you/

A standout example of our community impact came to light recently when the defibrillator we donated to Knox Infolink was utilised in a life-saving situation. This incident not only underscores the importance of our contributions but also highlights the heroism of Ben Giraud, the Breakfast Co-ordinator at Knox Infolink, who played a crucial role in this event. The article I wrote on this event has been sent off to FTG News and The Basin News for publishing in the next edition. So far, I have heard back from FTG News, that they will include the story.

I am pleased to report on the success of our recent Golf Day. Both John White and Ken Barrett have indicated that this will be their final event in this capacity. They expressed a sense of fulfillment and readiness to step back, and I would like to extend my congratulations to them for their years of hard work and dedication to making our Golf Days successful.

It’s essential that we begin the process to ensure a smooth transition and continued leadership for our club. We are seeking potential candidates for President Nominee for 2028-2029 year. If you feel you might be interested, please come and speak to me.

I am also excited to present to PELDS the Youth Skills Shed. I believe this initiative has the potential to inspire other clubs to undertake similar projects. To be approached to do this is an honour and shows what an impact this project has.

Reflecting on my term as President, I am pleased with the emphasis we've placed on the wellbeing and care of our club members. I want to extend a special thanks to Geoff Griffin for his dedication and support in realising our collective vision for the year. It has been rewarding to witness the strengthening of our club and the deepening of relationships among our members.
