As I sit here in my favourite place, Bermagui, I have been reflecting on the Club Workshop we held at our last meeting.
We held a Club Workshop and brainstorming session focused on the four strategic priorities of Rotary: increasing our impact, expanding our reach, enhancing participant engagement, and increasing our ability to adapt. It was an inspiring evening filled with creativity and collaboration!
Members who attended were divided into four groups, each concentrating on one of these strategic priorities. After my presentation highlighting key discussion areas, the brainstorming session began. Each group shared their ideas, and I was thrilled to see the enthusiasm and innovative thinking from everyone involved.
The ideas generated were impressive and varied, reflecting our collective commitment to making a meaningful difference in our community and beyond. I plan to take immediate action on some of these suggestions and will also be meeting with the executive team to discuss a strategic plan that incorporates our findings. This collaborative effort will help us move forward effectively as we transition into successive leadership.
For those interested, I’ve attached a copy of my presentation for your reference. Your insights and participation are invaluable to our Club’s success, and I look forward to continuing this conversation as we implement our strategies.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the workshop! It was something a little different to our usual meetings and I really appreciate your support for the night. Together, we can enhance our impact and create lasting change.
I am thrilled that the signs have officially been installed on the Youth Skills Shed! This project represents an incredible opportunity for our youth to learn valuable skills that they may not have the chance to explore in their home environment or at school.
Seeing this project come to life fills me with pride, and I want to extend my congratulations to everyone involved. Your hard work and dedication have made this initiative possible, and it’s a testament to what we can achieve when we come together as a community.
I eagerly look forward to witnessing the positive outcomes from this program and the impact it will have on our young people. This is certainly a project our Club can be very proud of!
Thank you once again to everyone who contributed to making the Youth Skills Shed a reality.
This afternoon, I had the opportunity to watch the whales, and it left me with a profound sense of calm. With everything that has been happening—not just within our Club, but also across our community groups and the district—it was a much-needed reminder of what truly matters.
Observing the whales breach and interact with their young brought me back to the essence of life and its simple joys. In the midst of our busy schedules and the demands of leadership, it’s easy to lose sight of our purpose and the beauty that surrounds us.
This experience served as a gentle reminder to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters. I encourage everyone to take a moment for themselves amidst the hustle and bustle, whether it's through nature, a hobby, or simply spending time with loved ones.
Here’s to finding our own moments of calm and clarity!
Take care,
