WEEKLY BULLETIN VOLUME 4 ISSUE 18 29th October 2024
Monique's Message
This week, our Club has truly embodied the spirit of Rotary, showcasing our commitment to service and community engagement. We are excited to announce the grand opening of our Youth Skills Shed, an initiative that aligns with all four areas of focus in Rotary. This facility will provide a safe and nurturing environment for students to explore a wide range of hands-on skills, including woodworking, plumbing, electrical work, concreting, metal polishing, bricklaying, and cooking, among others.
The Youth Skills Shed is more than just a place to learn; it is a vital resource for personal development, fostering independence and self-reliance among our youth. We are not merely teaching skills; we are building futures. By investing in the next generation, we are equipping them with essential tools that will serve them for a lifetime. This initiative holds immense significance, as it offers young people opportunities to learn skills that may not be available in traditional classrooms or at home.
A special congratulations is in order for the dedicated team led by Ray Siegersma, whose hard work and commitment have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. Your efforts are truly commendable!
In addition to this exciting development, we came together to support the End Polio initiative and recognise World Polio Day. Members wore red at our last meeting and made contributions to this important cause.
We are also thrilled to announce the sponsorship of an Interact Club at the Boronia K-12 College. This new partnership will enable us to work closely with the youth in our community, instilling lifelong values and encouraging service above self.
Lastly, we warmly welcome a new member to our Club, Beth Pardoe. If you haven’t had the chance yet, please take a moment to introduce yourself and get to know her. We are confident that she will be a great asset to our Club.
I feel incredibly proud to be part of such a vibrant Rotary Club, filled with energy and purpose. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication in making our collective efforts a success. Let’s continue to inspire and uplift each other as we move forward together!
