Our committees are up and running, with some excellent projects beginning to take shape. Please remember to put events into the Rotary Calendar or let Monique know so she can put them into the bulletin/events section on the website.
I am attending the Group 4 District meeting on Sunday and the President seminar on Friday evening.
I am proud of the way our club continues to live out Rotary’s values of service and fellowship. Together, we are making a difference – and enjoying ourselves along the way!

Just thought I’d share a couple of pics from today’s sustainability group working in the Kitchen Garden. Thanks to your Rotary Clubs kind donation, the students have planted 8 new citrus trees with half and full wine barrels. The three garden beds at the back on the wall are for an indigenous bush tucker garden (coming soon) and we will shortly build the new green house. Next term, our Hands on Learning students (similar program to Youth Shed) in Year 8 will be building the Chicken Coup with the plan to get chickens in Feb 2026. All this is possible because of the Clubs donation. I’ll send you more updates as we go. Thank you

Supporting the Boronia K-12 Interact Club: A Commitment to Youth and Community
At the Rotary Club of Boronia, we take great pride in nurturing the next generation of leaders through our support for the Boronia K-12 Interact Club. This vibrant group of students, ranging from Years 7 to 12, embodies the spirit of service and community engagement that Rotary values deeply.
Empowering Young Leaders
The Interact Club provides a fantastic platform for students to develop essential leadership skills while engaging in meaningful community service. Through hands-on projects, students learn the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and the impact they can have on their local community. We believe that empowering youth is crucial for building a brighter future, and the Interact Club is a shining example of this commitment in action.
Recent Initiatives and Projects
Recently, the Interact Club has embarked on exciting initiatives, including the upcoming launch of the "Foot of the Hills" café within the school. This café will not only serve delicious food and drinks but also serve as a learning experience for students, teaching them about business operations and financial management. We are thrilled to support this project, as it aligns perfectly with our mission to foster entrepreneurship and practical learning.
Additionally, the Interact Club is planning exciting fundraising opportunities and collaboration with their ‘Student Voice’ team. By planning these activities, they will be able to raise much needed funds to get the Café self-funded and eventually making a profit, which in turn will enable them to contribute back to the community.
Collaboration and Growth
Our partnership with the Interact Club goes beyond just support; it’s a collaboration. We will encourage Interact members to participate in Rotary events, allowing them to gain insights into community leadership and networking. This connection not only strengthens their skills but also showcases the importance of intergenerational partnerships in community service.
The recent Interact Conference highlighted the importance of expanding membership and engaging students from all year levels. We’re excited to see the Interact Club take proactive steps to promote inclusivity and ensure that every student feels welcome and valued.

I am deeply grateful for the great honour of receiving the title of Honorary Rotarian.
The Rotary Club of Boronia has been an enduring source of inspiration for me, with the joy of
fellowship and friendship where good people come together for the fulfilment of making a difference.
This has always been my shared spirit of service and dedication with many members which has made
my Rotary journey so meaningful.
I accept this recognition with humility and pride and with great appreciation for the bonds of friendship
of shared purposes and commitment to Service and Self.
Last Friday night, many Rotarians, Rotractors and friends attended the Knox Nocturnals Bingo night, hosted by Gus Rozycki and Stephen Palamara. It was a great success and everyone had lots of fun! Monique walked away with plenty of winnings!!

CONTAINER DEPOSIT SCHEME
Hi folks,
The Rotary Club of Boronia is registered as a donation partner with the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme.
Victoria is divided into 3 zones and of course we sit on the border between two of them, so we’re registered with both the North and East zones. Persons returning containers to any collection point in either zone may nominate us to receive the funds from their donations simply by scanning the attached barcode or entering our Donation Partner ID. All funds contributed will be deposited to our Committee account.
** Remember, you can bring along your empty bottles to our meetings. Our Environment Chair, Annette Griffin, will take them to a recycling location to make a deposit on our behalf.

Dear Rotarian and friends of Rotary,
I had sent out a circular earlier to Rotarians and friends of Rotary who contribute to The Rotary Foundation through the EREY program, to you I apologise, that once again you are on the circular list going now to all Rotarians within our District.
WHY should you, as an individual, support The Rotary Foundation?
My simple answer is WHY NOT with all that the funding can do to make a difference in our world, and expanding on the simple answer, I also consider The Rotary Foundation as our CHARITY OF CHOICE.
The EREY was voted into being at the 2004 Council on Legislation and was put into place to encourage every Rotarian to give US$100 every year to The Rotary Foundation.
The Rotary Foundation in its wisdom recognises any Rotarian [or donor] who contributes between US$25 and US$99 to the Annual Fund as a Every Rotarian Every Year contributor.
Over US$100, again to the Annual Fund, you would be listed as a sustaining member.
The EREY program is a District managed program, so the “book keeping” is what you could nominally say is loose at District Level, but the contributions are listed against the donor’s name in the Rotary Club of their choice. Rotarians who have moved Clubs have their names against at least two Clubs, but that is fine as I can see which Club the member is currently serving with.
Would it be too difficult to advise me when the payment goes through?
No more about management issues when the real important issue is your giving and what can be achieved by that giving. Firstly, you will be contributing to Do Good In The World with your donation to The Rotary Foundation, then a goodly proportion of the money will come back to us as a District in three years-time to fund projects with District Designated Funds. If a tax break is important to you or yourbusiness enterprise then that is also achievable.

Service is important for all Rotarians and we all can serve in one way or another, the same can be said with serving The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International – Doing Good In The World. I URGE YOU TO BE PART OF THAT SERVICE.

Welcome to the 2026 District Conference in Hobart, Tasmania!
