WEEKLY BULLETIN    VOLUME 5   ISSUE 19  12th November 2024

Monique's Message

As you read this bulletin, Mark and I will likely be soaking up the sun by the pool in beautiful Fiji. While it can be challenging to step away from our Rotary commitments and business responsibilities, we are committed to taking a moment to relax and reset before the busy next couple of months approaches.
In the next two months, we have a packed schedule filled with exciting events and activities, including:
  • Bunnings BBQs
  • Trivia Night
  • Boronia K-12 Fete
  • Knox Rocks song recording
  • Youth Skills Shed sessions
  • Social outings
  • RYDA program with Boronia K-12
  • Christmas packing project
  • Our Christmas break-up celebration
Additionally, we will continue our ongoing commitment to the Infolink Breakfast program and the Community Gardens.
Our recent meetings have been vibrant and well-attended, with numerous guests joining us, including potential new members. Anyone who has attended our meetings lately would surely notice the great buzz and energy in the room.
I had a conversation this week with Anton Hockey from the RYDA program, and I’m thrilled to confirm that Boronia K-12 College will participate in the RYDA Program on December 3rd at the Box Hill Institute of TAFE (Lilydale Lakeside Campus). RYDA is a fantastic initiative that equips students and teachers with the knowledge and tools to become responsible road users. It focuses on inquiry-based learning, promoting safe driving and passenger habits that will serve students throughout their lives.
To support this valuable program, we will contribute $12 per student for up to 100 students, helping cover the program cost of $27.50. It would be great to have around 3-4 volunteers on the day, and I will be calling for volunteers at our next meeting.
Speaking of our next meeting, we will  welcome our District Governor, Colin Byron, along with Wil and Sue Cornelissen. Our guest speakers will be representatives from the Wheelchairs for Kids program, promising yet another engaging session.
I hope the Bunnings BBQ is a resounding success and may you all enjoy the "Race that Stops the Nation" in whatever capacity you choose.
Thank you all once again for your dedication to the success of our club. Together, we are making a difference!
