Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025!
As we reflect on the past months since July 2024, it's clear that we've had a busy time filled with both challenges and triumphs. The momentum we've built together is truly remarkable, and the energy and enthusiasm in our Club are a testament to our collective commitment to making a positive impact. Let's keep this momentum going!
We have welcomed 5 new members to date. Ron Brooks, Beth Pardoe, Helene Kamieth, Michele Post and Vanneschka Seevathean. What a wonderful result of making our guests feel welcomed and exemplifying what a great Club they are joining. These new members are part of Rotary Club of Boronia family and I look forward to their input.
I am excited about the opportunity to work together and strengthen our Club even further. We have a busy couple of months ahead of us, and with everyone's time and effort, I am confident we can achieve great things. In the first 3 months of this year, we can look forward to the Annual Charity Golf Day in February, Knox Rocks Concert early March, a new round of the Youth Skills Shed and District Conference in Bendigo at the end of March. As well as continued support for the Knox Infolink Breakfast program and the Knox Community Gardens, growing produce for our community. I am keen to get together with the upcoming leadership team, to work on a strategic plan for the next couple of years. We have some exciting meeting content to look forward to and of course many other opportunities that will come our way to make an impact in the community and beyond.
To kick off the year, let's gather casually on Tuesday, 14th January, at the Quarry Reserve in Ferntree Gully at 6:30 PM. Please bring your own picnic dinner and a chair. Partners, friends, and family are warmly invited to join us. BBQ and toilet facilities are available.
Then, on Sunday, 19th January, our first Bunnings BBQ for the year. These BBQs have always been a huge success, and a wonderful source of income. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who dedicate their time to help. Your efforts truly make a difference and enable us to give back to the community where it's needed most.
On Tuesday, 21st January, we will resume our meetings at the Knox Club. Please remember, please decline on Clubrunner or let me know if you are unable to attend. It is important that we let the Knox Club know meal numbers in advance so we are not out of pocket.
Looking forward to a fantastic year ahead filled with health, happiness, collaboration and success!

ATTENDANCE
Please use Club Runner to manage your attendance. If you are unable to attend and/or wish to bring additional guests for a special event or partners night please do so by 5pm Monday night. We need to give Knox Club numbers and pay for meals even if you do not attend.
If you are having trouble logging in to your ClubRunner account, please let me know and we can get some help.

Please ensure you have your working with children's check is updated.
NOTE - Vanderwolde kids (Alex, Kate and Sam) will be at the reserve early to secure a spot. They will have signage or you could just look out for three teenage kids on their phones :)

ROTARY CLUB OF BORONIA CHARITY GOLF DAY
MONDAY 17TH FEBRUARY 2024
We need your help
Plans are well in hand for our 2025 Annual Charity Golf Day to held on February 17 2025 at The Eastwood Golf Club. We are fortunate this year to have LJ Hooker as our naming rightr sponsor and we are currently negotiating for other local business to become sponsors oh holes around the course.
this is the MAJOR FUNDRAISING EVENT for our club each year, and as such we need the help and support of every member.
Can you help ? There a 4 ways you can help make this day a success
1. Players
It is crucial that we attract as many players as possible for the day. Talk to your friends, business associates, Neighbours, family and any golfer you know to join us on the day. A round of golf on a beautiful but demanding course with lunch included costs only $105. Players will have the golf course to themselves. Why not make a team of 4 and enjoy not only the golf, but also the fellowship and networking. Player enquires should be directed to Ken Barrett.
2. Sponsors
Without sponsors for every hole we will be hampered in raising the vital funds we need for our community projects. I am sure that you have many local contacts in business that could be approached to take out the sponsorship of a hole. The cost of this sponsorship is $690 per hole. The benefits includes:
Signage on a tee
Entry for four players including their lunch
Recognition throughout the day
Recognition on the entry form
The opportunity to distribute promotional material
Every sponsored hole we secure goes straight to the bottom line
3. Raffle Prizes
Another way you can help is to donate raffle prizes. Have a chat to local businesses and see if you can get a donation of some prizes. These can come in the form of gift vouchers, gift packs, discount vouchers, bottles of wine, dinner for 2 at a local restaurant etc. Every little bit counts.
4. Assistance on the day
There will be plenty of help require on Monday February 17th from about 7am onwards. Many hands make light work and your assistance during the day would be greatly appreciate and vital to the smooth running of the vent.

POLIO UPDATE
Bookings for the Inaugural District 9815 Conference to be held in Bendigo 28 - 30 March 2025 are NOW OPEN.
Partners, family, friends, potential members, supporters and alumni welcome.
If members are unable to attend Tuesday night's meeting, please decline on ClubRunner by 5pm the Monday before. This is important for Knox Club staff and catering purposes.
