Thank you all for your understanding regarding the Wal Goodwin bequest. It was a difficult message to deliver, but I’m proud of how our club has embraced it, even if reluctantly. It speaks volumes about our shared values and commitment.
It was truly inspiring to witness the passion Felicia and Inga brought to the Men's Health Shed initiative. The project plan is outstanding, huge kudos to Ray for his work. I’m excited to see this take off and make a real impact.
We also had the pleasure of announcing that Ray has been selected for the Westfield Local Hero program, such well-deserved recognition! Please take a moment to vote for Ray and spread the word. Every vote counts
Following our meeting on Tuesday evening, we held a board meeting to discuss upcoming plans. We've agreed that future board meetings will be held online on Thursday evenings to make it easier for everyone to attend.
Just a reminder: board meetings are open to all members. If you're interested in joining, please reach out to our secretary Peter Dalwood to be included.
On Friday evening, Monique and I attended the Presidents Meeting at Beaconsfield Club. Monique did a phenomenal job showcasing the incredible work she’s done on the upcoming conference. I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing as many of you there as possible, it promises to be something special.
We also met the marketing team (more details to come) and connected with Guz Rozycki, leader of Community Group 4. It was a long evening, but absolutely worth it.
I’m looking forward to joining the Rotary Community Leadership Group on Sunday evening and continuing these meaningful conversations.

WESTFIELD LOCAL HERO - VOTE NOW!
HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY BY VOTING FOR RAY.
Congratulations to Ray Siegersma for being a finalist in the 2025 Westfield Local Heroes awards and recognition program for making a positive impact in our local community.
As one of the finalists for Westfield Knox, Ray's work will be promoted in-centre, on digital channels and potentially in the local media between 19 August and 8 September 2025. The community will be invited to vote for the finalist they would like to see receive a grant of $20,000 to their organisation to continue their community work. The remaining two finalists will receive a $5,000 grant for their organisation or group.
Please ask your friends, family and colleagues to vote for Ray.
All finalists will be notified of the status of the community vote from 14 October 2025.

Hi folks,
The Rotary Club of Boronia is registered as a donation partner with the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme.
Victoria is divided into 3 zones and of course we sit on the border between two of them, so we’re registered with both the North and East zones. Persons returning containers to any collection point in either zone may nominate us to receive the funds from their donations simply by scanning the attached barcode or entering our Donation Partner ID. All funds contributed will be deposited to our Committee account.
** Remember, you can bring along your empty bottles to our meetings. Our Environment Chair, Annette Griffin, will take them to a recycling location to make a deposit on our behalf.

Dear Rotarian and friends of Rotary,
I had sent out a circular earlier to Rotarians and friends of Rotary who contribute to The Rotary Foundation through the EREY program, to you I apologise, that once again you are on the circular list going now to all Rotarians within our District.
WHY should you, as an individual, support The Rotary Foundation?
My simple answer is WHY NOT with all that the funding can do to make a difference in our world, and expanding on the simple answer, I also consider The Rotary Foundation as our CHARITY OF CHOICE.
The EREY was voted into being at the 2004 Council on Legislation and was put into place to encourage every Rotarian to give US$100 every year to The Rotary Foundation.
The Rotary Foundation in its wisdom recognises any Rotarian [or donor] who contributes between US$25 and US$99 to the Annual Fund as a Every Rotarian Every Year contributor.
Over US$100, again to the Annual Fund, you would be listed as a sustaining member.
The EREY program is a District managed program, so the “book keeping” is what you could nominally say is loose at District Level, but the contributions are listed against the donor’s name in the Rotary Club of their choice. Rotarians who have moved Clubs have their names against at least two Clubs, but that is fine as I can see which Club the member is currently serving with.
Would it be too difficult to advise me when the payment goes through?
No more about management issues when the real important issue is your giving and what can be achieved by that giving. Firstly, you will be contributing to Do Good In The World with your donation to The Rotary Foundation, then a goodly proportion of the money will come back to us as a District in three years-time to fund projects with District Designated Funds. If a tax break is important to you or yourbusiness enterprise then that is also achievable.

Service is important for all Rotarians and we all can serve in one way or another, the same can be said with serving The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International – Doing Good In The World. I URGE YOU TO BE PART OF THAT SERVICE.
