WEEKLY BULLETIN VOLUME 3 ISSUE 11 10th September 2024
SEPTEMBER - BASIC EDUCATION AND LITERACY MONTH
Monique's Message
This week, we are thrilled to welcome our newest member, Ron Brooks, to the Club! Ron brings with him a wealth of experience and a rich history in Rotary, making him a valuable asset to the Rotary Club of Boronia. His profound knowledge and insights will undoubtedly enhance our collective efforts. We also extend a warm welcome to Ron's wife, Robbie, and want to reinforce that she is always welcome to join us. If you haven’t had the chance to introduce yourself to Ron yet, please take a moment to do so!
We had a great presentation from Marcus Adams of The Rotary Club of Emerald & District, along with DGN Emma Clarke, who shared insights about their involvement in the 2023 Conference in Canberra. The presentation highlighted the importance of teamwork in organizing such a successful event, leaving us all inspired by the collaborative spirit of Rotary.
Recently, an email was circulated regarding the Op-Shop Survey and the next steps. I encourage everyone to take the time to read through the outcomes. A heartfelt thank you to all who participated and provided feedback. Understanding the general voice of our Club is crucial for determining our next steps. I also want to acknowledge the dedication of those involved in researching and answering questions related to the Op-Shop.
Many of our members are actively engaged in a variety of initiatives, including gardening, assisting with the Infolink Breakfast program, writing grant applications, organizing events and social activities, seeking volunteers, supporting fundraising activities, conducting welfare checks, administrative duties are just some examples. The commitment and hard work that often go unnoticed are what contribute to our Club’s success, and I am deeply grateful for all your efforts, and it is really important that we support each other too.
Looking ahead, I am excited about next week’s presentation by Asanka Aruna, who will discuss his project in Sri Lanka, Little Trees Nursery. It promises to be an enlightening session, and I hope to see you all there!
Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work. Together, we make a difference.
Great acts are made up of small deeds. Lao Tzu

KNOX NETWORKING EVENT
We are excited to be hosting our next Volunteer Manager’s Network meeting at the Knox Environment Society where we can ‘NETWORK WITH NATURE’!
We have invited ‘The Lizard Wizard’ to share an interactive experience where we can get up close and personal with wildlife while we network!
A wonderful way to focus on caring for our wildlife and environment. Meet Frank the Lizard and Gemini the Python if you dare!
The Knox Environment Society have also kindly offered a tour of their nursery where we can see first hand how volunteering looks for them!
We will end our day with a delicious morning tea and a take home goodie bag!
We hope that you can attend as this is a wonderful way to meet and talk freely with other like minded Managers about all things volunteering.
We have limited spots available so make sure you book in asap with the link below. Bookings close on Friday 20th of September or before if capacity is reached.
If members are unable to attend Tuesday night's meeting, please decline on ClubRunner by 5pm the Monday before. This is important for Knox Club staff and catering purposes.
