As we turn the page and begin this new Rotary year, I’m filled with both excitement and gratitude. Thank you for trusting me to serve as your President, it’s an honour I carry with humility and hope.
This year is more than just a new calendar, it’s a fresh opportunity. A chance to deepen our impact, strengthen our friendships, and make a real difference in our community and beyond.
We are not just members of a club. We are part of a global movement—1.4 million strong—dedicated to Service Above Self. Every project, every event, every meeting is a moment to inspire, connect, and lead with purpose.
Our theme this year is Unite for Good, and I can’t wait to explore what that looks like in action. Whether it’s lifting up youth through education, championing mental health, protecting the environment, or simply showing up for each other—we have so many ways to serve with heart.
I’m excited for the year ahead and the initiatives we’ll take on together. But today, I simply want to say: thank you for being here. Thank you for believing in Rotary. And thank you for the energy, wisdom, and joy you bring to our club.
A special mention must go to Ray Siegersma, who has already started the year on a high note. At last week’s Knox Community Awards, where both Ray and Monique represented our club, Ray was awarded a medallion in recognition of his outstanding contributions. What an achievement! Ray, we can’t wait to see the medal and celebrate with you. Keep up the amazing work.
Everyone should now have received their committee placements. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to speak to me privately—I want everyone to feel they are in the right place to grow and contribute.
Here’s to a year of impact, connection, and purpose. Let’s Unite for Good.
Yours in Rotary,
Bernadette Vanderwolde
President 2025-26
