WEEKLY BULLETIN    VOLUME 3   ISSUE  3rd September 024
SEPTEMBER - BASIC EDUCATION AND LITERACY MONTH

Monique's Message

Firstly, Id like to wish a heartfelt Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers.  I hope you had the opportunity to share some quality time with your families.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending a Thank You afternoon tea at Tamminya House, a home dedicated to supporting single-parent families facing homelessness. They provide short-term crisis accommodation in a safe, secure, and comfortable environment. We were proud to financially support them with proceeds from our Annual Golf Day, which helped install a new kitchen with appliances. The afternoon was lovely, and there was an overwhelming sense of appreciation.

We recently held our monthly Board meeting, and I must say the Board is a fantastic support and a cohesive team. Much discussion was had. This unity is reflected in the strength of our Club. We have many exciting events lined up before Christmas, and we will have a calendar available at the sign-in table so you can see what's coming up. This information will also be updated on our events page on ClubRunner, which is also shown in the bulletin.

Your involvement in these upcoming events is crucial for their success. We understand many of you are traveling or juggling other commitments, volunteering your time and attending functions is a wonderful way to connect with one another, share some laughter, and have fun together.  Even if you can spare an hour of you time, it all helps.

Remember when you are out and about, proudly spread the word about our Club and the good work we do.  Invite people to come along to a meeting and check us out.  They will quickly realise what a great bunch of people we are and what a wonderful organisation Rotary International is.

As we approach the excitement of the AFL football finals, here’s another trivia question for you this week:

Which AFL Football Club has won the most Grand Finals?

Thank you for taking time to read my message.  Enjoy your week in Rotary.

Take care,

KNOX NETWORKING EVENT

We are excited to be hosting our next Volunteer Manager’s Network meeting at the Knox Environment Society where we can ‘NETWORK WITH NATURE’!

Event Details:

Where: Knox Environment Society, 1010 Burwood Highway, Ferntree Gully (next to FTG Library)

When: Thursday 26th of September

Time: 10-12pm

We have invited ‘The Lizard Wizard’ to share an interactive experience where we can get up close and personal with wildlife while we network!

A wonderful way to focus on caring for our wildlife and environment. Meet Frank the Lizard and Gemini the Python if you dare!

The Knox Environment Society have also kindly offered a tour of their nursery where we can see first hand how volunteering looks for them!

We will end our day with a delicious morning tea and a take home goodie bag!

We hope that you can attend as this is a wonderful way to meet and talk freely with other like minded Managers about all things volunteering.

We have limited spots available so make sure you book in asap with the link below. Bookings close on Friday 20th of September or before if capacity is reached.
