WEEKLY BULLETIN    VOLUME 5   ISSUE 19  12th November 2024

Monique's Message

I hope those who participated in backing a horse during this week's Melbourne Cup Carnival found success in their bets!
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who made last Sunday’s BBQ at Bunnings a tremendous success. Your hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed, and the event was a fantastic result for all involved.
I would also like to take a moment to acknowledge the remarkable achievements of the Youth Skills Shed. The range of skills that our young participants are acquiring is truly invaluable. It’s my hope that this experience ignites a passion or hones a skill that they will carry into their adult lives.
In this bulletin, you’ll find a link to register your availability to volunteer for the Boronia K-12 Fete on Saturday, November 30th. We have the exciting opportunity to help guide attendees around the school grounds, as well as to promote ourselves with a stall. Our stall will feature native plants for sale, children's activity books, and a spinning wheel with fun prizes. This is a wonderful chance to strengthen our connection with the school community. If you can spare an hour or two, it would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to bring your family along to enjoy the festivities!
Planning for the upcoming Trivia Night is well underway. We have generated an array of questions, and participation numbers are steadily growing. It promises to be a fantastic evening! Please spread the word among your family and friends—the more, the merrier! All funds raised will support a Sky Hydrant through Disaster Aid Australia.
District Governor Colin Byron will be joining us at our next meeting, along with guest speakers from Wheelchairs for Kids. I look forward to this presentation, which will be another great opportunity to forge connections with our local schools.
Lastly, I will be asking for 3-4 volunteers at our meeting on Tuesday night to assist with the RYDA program on Tuesday, December 3rd, at Box Hill TAFE, Lilydale Lakeside Campus. Your support would be invaluable.
Thank you all for your continued involvement and support. Together, we are making a positive impact in our community!
