Firstly, thank you to The Smith Family for joining us and sharing the wonderful work they are doing to support children in their fight for education. Reaching over 220,627 participants in the 2023–2024 year is an incredible achievement!
It was inspiring to hear how volunteer Charles Almond is helping to change children’s futures, and I especially like and agree with their motto: "Education is one of the most powerful agents of change."
Thank you also to those who attended the Knox Council Tree Planting event. It looked like a great turnout, especially around the sausage sizzle! Your contribution is truly appreciated.
This week at our meeting, we launch our very first working group committees. I’m excited to see the energy, ideas, and outcomes that emerge from this new initiative.

Last Friday, Peter, Jan, Helene & Monique cooked and served sausages for approx 150 volunteers who participated in the Knox Business Tree Planting Day in Rowville. It was a great opportunity for us to network and talk about the amazing things we do in our community. Thank you to Knox Council for reaching out and giving us this opportunity.

World Environment Day 2025 – Planting Event
Join us this Sunday 27th July as we celebrate World Environment Day by continuing our restoration work along the Dandenong Creek — this time at J.W. Manson Reserve in Wantirna.
Together, we’ll be planting over 4,000 native plants and helping to create vital habitat corridors for local wildlife.
Everyone is welcome! Whether you're a regular volunteer or a first-timer, come along and connect with the bushland, the creek, and the community. A free BBQ will be provided for all participants. This is a ticketed event, but its free

Welcome to the 2026 District Conference in Hobart, Tasmania!
I am thrilled to invite you to join us from March 13th to 15th, 2026, for an extraordinary event that promises to be both enriching and enjoyable. This year, we are excited to announce that the conference will be a collaborative effort with District 9830, representing Tasmania. Together, we aim to create an unforgettable experience filled with learning, networking, and cultural immersion.
Hobart, with its rich history and vibrant atmosphere, provides the perfect backdrop for our conference activities. On Friday, attendees can indulge in a variety of unique experiences, including storytelling at MACq 01, welcome drinks at the iconic Henry Jones, delightful lunch options paired with gin tasting, and exclusive whiskey tasting at the renowned Lark Distillery. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, we will also host golf and bowling events, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Beyond the conference, Hobart offers a wealth of attractions that invite exploration. Take advantage of this opportunity to visit the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), or enjoy scenic drives to Port Arthur and Mt Wellington.
