A group of 20 from our Club spent a lovely weekend away in Daylesford. The cold weather did not stop everyone from enjoying themselves. The accommodation at the Central Springs Inn was lovely, and the hosts went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable and comfortable. Of course 'Happy Hour' was a great chance to mingle before heading out for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.
Most came together for lunch on Saturday at the 'Convent Gallery', where Tina who has worked there for 36 years had many stories to tell.
What a great way to get together and share stories and to get to know each other better. Thank you to the Social Group for organising.

WESTFIELD LOCAL HERO - VOTE NOW!
HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY BY VOTING FOR RAY.
Congratulations to Ray Siegersma for being a finalist in the 2025 Westfield Local Heroes awards and recognition program for making a positive impact in our local community.
As one of the finalists for Westfield Knox, Ray's work will be promoted in-centre, on digital channels and potentially in the local media between 19 August and 8 September 2025. The community will be invited to vote for the finalist they would like to see receive a grant of $20,000 to their organisation to continue their community work. The remaining two finalists will receive a $5,000 grant for their organisation or group.
Please ask your friends, family and colleagues to vote for Ray.
All finalists will be notified of the status of the community vote from 14 October 2025.

CONTAINER DEPOSIT SCHEME
Hi folks,
The Rotary Club of Boronia is registered as a donation partner with the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme.
Victoria is divided into 3 zones and of course we sit on the border between two of them, so we’re registered with both the North and East zones. Persons returning containers to any collection point in either zone may nominate us to receive the funds from their donations simply by scanning the attached barcode or entering our Donation Partner ID. All funds contributed will be deposited to our Committee account.
** Remember, you can bring along your empty bottles to our meetings. Our Environment Chair, Annette Griffin, will take them to a recycling location to make a deposit on our behalf.

Welcome to the 2026 District Conference in Hobart, Tasmania!
I am thrilled to invite you to join us from March 13th to 15th, 2026, for an extraordinary event that promises to be both enriching and enjoyable. This year, we are excited to announce that the conference will be a collaborative effort with District 9830, representing Tasmania. On Friday, attendees can indulge in a variety of unique experiences, including storytelling at MACq 01, welcome drinks at the iconic Henry Jones, delightful lunch options paired with gin tasting, and exclusive whiskey tasting at the renowned Lark Distillery. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, we will also host golf and bowling events, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Base
1 cup SR flour
1 cup brown sugar, lightly packed 1 cup coconut
125 G butter
Chocolate Topping 125 G dark chocolate 30G copha
Caramel Filling
1 tin condensed milk
2 tbsp. golden syrup 30G butter
Directions
• Sift flour, add sugar and coconut and mix until combined.
• Melt butter, add to dry ingredients and mix well.
• Press into lamington tray.
• Bake at 180° C for 10 minutes, then remove from oven.
• Place caramel filling ingredients into a saucepan and stir over low heat until butter is melted and mixture is golden.
• Spread over base, return to oven and bake for a further 10 minutes.
• Remove from oven and cool.
• Melt chocolate and copha together in microwave for 1 minute.
• Pour and spread topping over caramel layer.
