This week marked our final Working Group Committee meeting for the year, and it was another productive action-focused meeting. Plans are coming together, handovers are well underway, and it is exciting to see everything taking shape.
We also held another successful sausage sizzle on Saturday. My children certainly appreciate the extra freezer space, and I am pleased to report it was another great Rotary event. Not only did we raise valuable funds, but we also enjoyed catching up with long-time friends and learning more about our newer members. That is what Rotary is all about.
June is Rotary Fellowship Month (or Social Group Month, as we like to call it), and our Social Team is looking forward to hosting the Changeover celebrations. If you have not yet RSVP'd, please do so as soon as possible to assist the team with planning.

Today, I would like to pause a moment to honour the life and legacy of Don Gordon, who has passed away at the remarkable age of 101.
Don was more than a dedicated Rotarian.
He was one of the visionaries who helped bring Australian Rotary Health to life.
In the early 1980s, when Ian Scott first proposed the idea of a national Rotary-funded health research foundation, Don was among those who saw the potential of what could be achieved.
As the President of the Rotary Club of Mornington, a key member of the inaugural committee established to guide the project, and later a Foundation Member of Australian Rotary Health, Don played a pivotal role in helping transform an ambitious idea into reality.
More than four decades later, that vision has grown into Australia's largest independent funder of mental health research. Australian Rotary Health has invested tens of millions of dollars into research, scholarships and health initiatives that have improved the lives of countless Australians.
That impact exists because people like Don believed it was possible.
Throughout his life, Don remained a passionate supporter of Australian Rotary Health and Rotary's commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of communities. In recognition of his extraordinary contribution, he was honoured as an Australian Rotary Health Ruby Companion. His legacy will continue to be felt through every researcher, scholar and community touched by the work he helped create.

Because of his vision. Because of his belief in a better future. Lives have been changed.

WHAT IS CHANGEOVER?
A Rotary Club Changeover is a special event where the Club formally marks the end of one Rotary year and the beginning of the next.
During the Changeover, the outgoing President reflects on the year that has been, celebrates the Club’s achievements, and thanks the Board, members and supporters for their contributions.
The incoming President is then officially welcomed into the role, along with the new Board and office bearers. It is also a chance to acknowledge members, present awards or special recognitions, and share plans or goals for the year ahead.
In simple terms, a Changeover is both a celebration and a handover, recognising the work of the past year while looking forward to the next chapter for the Club.
