WEEKLY BULLETIN    VOLUME 6   ISSUE 23  10th December 2024

Monique's Message

This week has been another busy one for our Club, filled with meaningful engagements and community outreach initiatives.
On Saturday, we proudly participated in the Boronia K-12 Fete, where our stall attracted many visitors. Thanks to the dedicated volunteers who helped with directions, we were able to enhance our connection with the school community. It was a fantastic opportunity for community engagement and showcased our commitment to supporting local initiatives.
Additionally, on Tuesday, four of our members volunteered at the RYDA (Road Youth Driver Awareness) program, where we sponsored students from the Boronia K-12 College. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for dedicating your time to this important cause. We received a letter of appreciation from Principal Paul Broeker, which you can find in further detail in this bulletin.
I would also like to take a moment to recognise the hard work of our members who tirelessly operate behind the scenes. Their efforts often go unnoticed, but they are crucial to our success. A few members come to mind to thank.
Ryan O'Shea, for his financial advice and support. Nothing is ever a bother, and he is always willing to help.   Glenn Tippett for printing certificates for our guest speakers each week, as well as keeping our social media updated.   Jim Sly, for maintaining our website and dedicating countless hours to produce our Annual Report.  Paul Cassidy, for promptly fixing the shed lock and mowing the grass at the CWA in preparation for our Christmas Party.  Peter Dalwood, for managing communication and organizing agendas and minutes.  Janet Windebank for handling attendance and correspond with the Knox Club weekly. Our Committee Chairs for their incredible efforts in organizing teams, rosters, and duties.
Every one of you play a vital role in the success of our Club, and I truly appreciate each of you for your contributions.
Looking ahead, our last meeting will be on Tuesday, December 17th, featuring a vocational visit to the Knox Community Gardens, where we have plots dedicated to growing produce for Knox Infolink. It will be exciting to see the progress made! We will provide a sausage sizzle for dinner, so please bring your own drinks. Let’s hope for dry weather!  Further details in the bulletin.
Once again, thank you to everyone involved and your contributions for the Christmas Packing project and to the Social Committee for organising our Christmas Party. What a wonderful way to conclude a successful year by giving back to the community.

Yours in Rotary,

Monique

Thankyou to Gonny and the entire social team for a wonderful event on Saturday 7th December.  Packs for Infolink and Tamminya House were created thanks to the generosity of members.  When it came to packing, it really was many hands make light work.  The packing was done in less than 15 minutes and then everyone enjoyed the beautiful gardens of the CWA (thanks Paul).  Well done everyone.
